Born in Seattle, Washington, Nick's interest in music began with his early exposure to jazz and rock music. After drumming for several years, he received a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. At Berklee, Nick studied Contemporary Writing & Production as well as Video Game Scoring, all while honing his skills as a versatile drummer and composer. His interest in video game audio has grown immensely during his time at Berklee, and has manifested itself in proficiency with composition, sound design, and technology including Unity and Wwise.
Nick has had the great pleasure of working with many talented musicians from across the United States and the rest of the world. He has toured the Pacific Northwest with blues artists Karen Lovely and John Del-Toro Richardson, played at the Reykjavik Blues Festival in Iceland, and is a regular drummer for legenday Chinese musician, Yazhi Guo. He has also played countless shows with musicians from Brazil, Turkey, Martinique, and from all over the globe. A seasoned studio drummer, Nick has already lent his talents to four EPs and albums, and three more currently unreleased. He also leads the Nick Sanchez Prophecy, combining the music of the Middle East with modern jazz and progressive rock. He has had the privilege of studying with great drummers such as Jeff Hamilton, Dave DiCenso, Brad Boal, Tony "Thunder" Smith, John Hazilla, Ken French, Ralph Peterson, and Terri-Lyne Carrington.
Nick is a firm believer that music can be a force for good, and intends to use that force in every way possible.
